Developed and published by Nintendo at the beginning of the 80’s, Mario Bros is one of the biggest hits of all time as far as the video game industry is concerned. The two brothers originally featured in the game are two Italian-American plumbers: Mario and Luigi. At the beginning the two of them, level after level were to travel through the sewers of New York, going up and down pipes, avoiding various obstacles such as piranha plants with long teeth and defeating creatures by either jumping on their heads, kicking them in the back for those who would flip over or even throwing them fire balls. Through the years, the levels sceneries have became more and more exotic, these days Mario and his gang –as more characters have been added – will get to travel through deserts, underwater worlds and even space. Home gaming systems such as the Wii have allowed Mario & Friends, and also enemies, to discover the pleasures of various sports such as karting, tennis, golf and baseball among others. Nowadays it will be surprising to bump into someone who has never heard about the Mario myth.
