The last Airbender was first aired on the children’s channel Nickelodeon in 2005. While it is directly inspired by the Japanese animes it’s actually an American show. Avatar revolves around the adventures of Aang a 12 year old and his friends Katara a 14 year old girl who is the only Waterbender left in the Southern Water Tribe and her brother Sokka, a 15 year old warrior. They met Aang after freeing him from an ice block he had been trapped in with Appa his flying bison for over 100 years. The latter turns out to be the incarnation of the Avatar – the world’s spirit. He also has specific tattoos who indicate that he is an Airbender, a culture who has disappeared off the face of the planet, meaning that he is the only one left. The show explores in many ways the universe of Chinese martial arts, and during their quest they will encounter a certain amount of villains such as Prince Zuko a fire nation warrior, who desperately seeks to capture Aang, Zhao a Firebender who would also like to get his hands on Aang but also on Prince Zuko, but also Zuko’s uncle Iroh, Azula or even the fire lord Ozai.Read more about Avatar Games categoryless
